Our Claims Process
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Thus, we’ve made the claims process as simple and hassle-free as possible and is completed within a convenient 5 step process:
If you have questions regarding coverage under your policy, your policy and associated documents are available for review through our Insured Portal. Your local agent is also always available as a resource for an explanation of coverage.
2. File a Claim
Report your claim by contacting our 24/7 claims call center at (504) 528-9555 or toll free at (800) 742-3109 and select option 1. An Americas claims coordinator will then follow up with you to gather more information and initiate the claims process. You will receive a claim number and your adjuster's contact information. The coordinator will also review the next steps in the claim process with you.
If you were not provided with a date and time for an adjuster's inspection by an Americas claims coordinator, then a claims adjuster will contact you within 48 hours of your reported loss to schedule your inspection.
*When a major catastrophe occurs, the time period can be delayed due to a large number of incoming claims.
3. Adjuster’s Inspection and Estimate of Damages
An adjuster will conduct an inspection of your damages, communicate findings and prepare a detailed report of their findings for review.
4. Review Your Estimate
After your adjuster's report is reviewed, your adjuster will contact you to discuss your estimate and answer any remaining questions.
5. Summarizing Your Damages
Your settlement package will be mailed to you and will include a detailed estimate of all covered damages as well as instructions on how to recover any applicable depreciation.
